Legal Lines – Question of the Month
With the help of McClelland & Anderson, we are taking the most recently asked questions from our legal hotline and putting them in E-news. We will be featuring a different question each issue.
I represent the buyer in the purchase of a house; the seller is continuing to show the property and is taking backup offers. Is this legal?
YES. The seller is free to continue marketing the property and take backup offers unless your buyer’s purchase agreement explicitly prohibits the seller from doing so.
